Primal Fear

When our family business was handed down to me, I was prepared physically and mentally. I know I can take on the challenges of doing business and the competition it entails. But what I was not prepared for is the pressure of having to carry the idea of being a prime model of the company at my shoulder. Every body was looking up at me. For every words I say, every moves I make. It’s hard to make a mistake. I need to be professional all of the time, employees are expecting me to make great decisions all the time. I should not be seen on off places. I should not be smiling to everyone. I should be closing all the deals that cross our company border. And it was harder than I thought it would be. I am also human prone to mistakes. Does being the company President needs to be perfect?

A Mother

It was after dinner and our family was gathered in the patio of our house, we were discussing what part of our body we could not live without.  My father said, he could live without an eyesight but not without his arms and legs. My sister said, she could not live a minute without her eyes. I thought for a while and still undecided, I asked my mom to  tell us what part of her body she couldn’t live without.  We were surprised when she told us, she could not live without her shoulders. Bewildered,  we asked why. Then she told us, she can loose all her senses but she still wants to have her shoulders  for us to have something to cry on when we have problems. We were all moved. Tears fell.
